I've posted both letters from James here, because I appreciated that he wrote again. I don't mind being a soundboard for someone trying to kill time, and since the prison letters are so interesting to me, I get excited anytime I get one, never knowing the flavor I'll get. James just seemed humble to me, and I can appreciate a goofy sense of humor. Try to imagine how you'd maintain your pma in a prison environment. Reaching out to a stranger that you feel some connection to what you've read about them, their work or whatever inspires you is taking a chance. But he didn't expect a return letter, and he didn't seem to care. I hope he stayed off drugs, and is able to live the good life in the free world again.
